COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATIONS
The College of Communications is committed to advancing economic opportunities and social justice by preparing students to perform in a variety of communication professions, not only in the diverse and media-rich Southern California region but also nationally and globally. The College prepares communicators who will advance democratic societies by undertaking critical academic inquiry, serving the community, and engaging in ethical and professional practice across all communications industries and related fields.
Academic programs are enhanced by co-curricular and high-impact practices such as CommWeek, forensics and debate, speech and hearing clinics, film festival participation, professional internships, the Latino Communications Institute, as well as numerous award-winning student-led clubs and media outlets. These include the Daily Titan newspaper, Tusk Magazine, Titan TV, Al Día, OC News, Titan Radio, and two communications agencies: Practical ADvantage (PRAD) and Titan Public Relations. With your help, we can continue enhancing all these and many other student-centered experiences!
This academic year, in celebration of the College’s founding in 1988, we have set up a special 35th anniversary scholarship, which will support – in perpetuity – communications students from across the College’s four departments.
