The Transformative Praxis Research Lab (TPRL) empowers graduate students and community members by facilitating experiential learning and enabling them to engage in anti-oppressive and liberation-based research. We need your support to provide graduate students with the opportunity to attend professional conferences and network with leading mental health scholars.
TPRL is a collaborative space that encourages active participation from counseling graduate students and marginalized communities, fostering the development of essential skills required for engaging in transformative and action-oriented research. Through a collaborative process, the lab endeavors to cultivate inclusivity, amplify diverse voices, and center the experiences of historically marginalized communities.
Since June 2023, our dedicated team has embarked on a collaborative journey with nine queer womxn of color. Together, we challenge incomplete and deficit-based narratives by delving into and celebrating their profound healing experiences within and beyond counseling.
Our goal is to increase mental health professionals' awareness of healing practices utilized by queer womxn of color, offering insights that can be seamlessly integrated into their clinical approaches.
