SouthWest Asian North African (SWANA)
Thanks to Diane Shammas, when 25 donors make a gift, $10,000 will be unlocked!
The Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) Resource Center is dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging and creating an empowering space for SWANA communities to embrace their identities and engage in cultural exchange. Through diverse resources, events, and programs, the center supports students in their academic journeys, celebrates their heritage, and promotes a strong foundation for both personal and collective success.
Given last year’s immense support, the inaugural SWANA Resource Center is now open! Culturally relevant decor, furniture, and materials were purchased and now the space is used daily by countless students. All students, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin are welcome at the SWANA Resource Center.
Your support this year will directly impact SWANA students in the form of student scholarships, research grants, and textbooks.
Funds will also be directed toward culturally relevant student programs, such as the annual SWANA Cultural Recognition Ceremony for graduating students, the grand opening of the resource center, culturally inclusive programs with student clubs and campus partners, as well as the annual Iftar dinner.
