SUPPORT THE RESILIENT FAMILIES PROGRAM
Did you know that 1/3 of families report experiencing extreme levels of stress, with a direct impact on children’s brain and emotional development?
YOU can help give a better tomorrow to families TODAY!
For the past 9 years, faculty within the Child and Adolescent Studies and Human Services departments have implemented the Resilient Families Program, a community-based intervention program designed for English- and Spanish-speaking families, many of whom are under-resourced, to build children’s developmental capacity for resilience. This is done through three building blocks of resilience: 1. strengthening parent-child attachment; 2. promoting self-regulation skills important for children’s school readiness and school success; and 3. supporting better management of parenting stress.
We are proud to share that positive results have been seen!
With your help, we can continue this life-changing work – offering benefits like decreased depression among parents, decreased negative child behaviors, and increased mindfulness.
Your gift will allow us to:
- Provide increased learning opportunities for CSUF students through RFP stipends. CSUF students are integral in the implementation and research components! They receive hands-on experience studying and interpreting data, working with our community of RFP programs, and helping expand the opportunities we can provide through this program.
- Continue partnering with Orange County Head Start, HIS House (Homeless Intervention Shelter), the Fullerton School District, and more
- Expand Resilient Families Program (RFP) to additional school and community sites to help more families and teachers
- Pay for trained implementers, project managers, and RFP-related supplies (books, games) to increase sustainability efforts.
- Build our RFP online presence and outreach through web and visual media
- Apply for outside grant funding to further our financial reach in the community
