College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Students learn through research and exploration in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, engaging in laboratory and field-based experiences that put concepts into practice. Rooted in inquiry-based learning, Titans gain the knowledge and critical-thinking skills needed for engaged citizenship, career success and the pursuit of advanced degrees.
We need your help today to ensure we continue to enhance our academic programs and transform the NSM student experience.
NSM Student Research Conference Travel Fund
When $1,000 is raised for the NSM Student Research Conference Travel Fund, an additional $1,000 gift from Sean and Tina Walker will be unlocked.
Research is central to every science and mathematics student's learning experience. However, presenting research is where students grow, build a network of peers, and obtain critical feedback in their pursuit of discovery and knowledge.
Presenting at a student research conference (virtual or in person) is often a pivotal learning moment. After students learn to manage their nerves, these occurrences often lead to the “ah-ha” moment where hard work, supportive faculty mentorship, and academic perseverance pay off in a big way.
At the time of graduation our students will have spent, on average, 500 to 1,000 hours engaged in field or laboratory work.
Uncertain economic conditions and the desire to expand these opportunities to students in all five of our departments, provides an inspiring mix where philanthropy can play a role to ensure every student who wishes to have a research conference experience can financially afford it.
Join us, by supporting the NSM Student Research Confernce Travel Fund through the CSUF Day of Giving!
Thank you in advance for helping our Titan Scientists and Mathematicians!
