Southwest Asian and North African Resource Center (SWANA)
Thanks to Diane Shammas, when 50 donors make a gift, $10,000 will be unlocked!
The Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) Resource Center fosters a vibrant and inclusive community, creating a welcoming and empowering space where SWANA students can thrive. To support students’ academic, personal, and cultural journeys, the center relies on philanthropic support to provide holistic resources, dynamic programming, and culturally relevant events that promote belonging, identity development, and wellness. Funding allows the SWANA Resource Center to celebrate the richness and complexity of SWANA heritage, promote intercultural understanding, and offer opportunities for advocacy, leadership, and community connection. With continued investment, the center equips students with essential tools, networks, and support systems that contribute to their personal, professional, and collective success.
Why your support matters:
Donations fund student scholarships, textbooks, and culturally affirming programs, including recognition ceremonies, collaborative campus initiatives, and community traditions such as the annual Iftar dinner.

Your support this year will directly impact SWANA students in the form of student scholarships, research grants, and textbooks.
Funds will also be directed toward culturally relevant student programs, such as the annual SWANA Cultural Recognition Ceremony for graduating students, the grand opening of the resource center, culturally inclusive programs with student clubs and campus partners, as well as the annual Iftar dinner.
