Thank you to Dr. JoAnn Carter-Wells for contributing $1,500 to be matched dollar for dollar to MSIDT Scholarships!
In the academic year 2021-2022, the MSIDT program awarded six scholarships! Scholarship support can make a tremendous difference to current MSIDT students.
Investing in the MSIDT scholarships will contribute to positive outcomes for our students and alumni.
Since 2005, Cal State Fullerton’s Masters of Science in Instructional Design and Technology (MSIDT) Scholarships have recognized notable academic achievement and leadership by currently enrolled MSIDT students. Both scholarships are funded jointly by the MSIDT Alumni Association and the MSIDT Program founder, Dr. JoAnn Carter-Wells.
There are currently over 400 alumni representing more than 50 different professional business/corporate areas who graduated from the MSIDT program. Professionals are working in the field of technology in education (kindergarten through higher education); the military; and corporate settings as educators, technology developers and trainers. Graduates of the MSIDT degree program are making a meaningful impact in the lives of learners in the global eLearning and digital learning communities.
The MSIDT program was launched in 2002 as the first online accredited graduate program in the state of California and one of the first fully online degree programs in the entire nation. It was ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the best online program in 2020 and the best online master's degree program in instructional design for value by OnlineCollege.org.
The MSIDT program has supported the alumni community by providing professional development, mentoring and networking opportunities focusing on emerging technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality and innovative learning management systems for individualization of instruction and learner competence. The inclusion of innovative content including video production, animation and systems training is essential to support the current generation of instructional designers through hands-on instructional development experiences.
Finally, due to the pandemic and the wrenching immersion in online for all learners, the instructional designer industry is now at the precipice of this great digital transformation. The "genie is out of the bottle" and instructional designers are being called upon to lead the way on a global scale with exponential growth in career opportunities.
