For many student veterans, the path to graduation is fraught with economic hardships. The Vets and Cadets Scholarship Fund provides student veterans and outstanding Cadets the financial assistance they need to complete their academic goals. The award also recognizes the sacrifices, challenges, and achievements veterans and cadets experience during service in the military and on their path to pursue commissioning as an Army officer.
The University's Army ROTC Titan Battalion, an award-winning battalion that has commissioned nearly 300 cadets as second lieutenants in the Army, the Army National Guard, and the Army Reserve, grants these Vets and Cadets scholarships yearly. These veterans and Cadets are highly motivated and driven – exceeding standards and performing at the highest levels academically.
Far too frequently, our student veterans and Cadets face difficult choices between funding their educational dreams or supporting their families. Our veterans and Cadets invest their time and energy into being the best they can be, as they have already or will soon serve as the guardians of freedom. You can now help support their educational growth as they take the last few steps into joining the Army or transition back to the civilian community with additional education and skills.
This award was established by CSUF alumnus Gregory Wirzbicki, his wife Cheryl, and their daughter Kathryn to provide scholarships honoring and aiding students of United States military background at Cal State Fullerton. The Wirzbicki family has generously stepped forward once again to help support our veterans and Cadets.
All gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 to the fund. That means your gift will have DOUBLE the impact! Additionally, if 35 people donate to the fund, regardless of the amount donated by each, the Wirzbicki family will add $5,000 to the fund.
