SchoolsFirst FCU Center for Careers in Teaching
Teaching has always been one of the most important professions in our society and the last year has proven that more than ever before. Teachers responded without pause when presented the challenge to convert their classrooms to a virtual world. They have supported their students through the challenges of a global pandemic and civic unrest. They have tried to maintain as much “normalcy” as possible for their students this last year. We need to continue to support teachers and the generations of teachers to come.
By giving to the SchoolsFirst FCU Center for Careers in Teaching (CCT) you are supporting students who want to become teachers who believe in anti-racist teaching and just, equitable and inclusive education for all students. The CCT provides critical information on the teacher pathways in California, as well as meaningful interactions between future teachers in order to create an impactful community of practice for any student interested in a career in education. Students who utilize the CCT resources will be a part of a supportive community and obtain the resources, knowledge and skills they need to feel abundantly prepared to enter our teaching credential program and, ultimately, the teaching profession.
Students who want to become teachers often share the urgent need for financial support to:
- Meet program admission requirements (state testing, CPR certification, application fees, etc.)
- Complete the credential program, which is difficult to do if a student needs to work to support their family.
Funds raised will provide future teachers with resources such as scholarships, test preparation resources, academic and career advising, and professional development opportunities.
We appreciate any amount you can give. Please support future teachers today!
