The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (NSM) has lost one of its champions – Dr. Maria Linder. Our beloved professor of Biochemistry passed away in September 2022. A passionate researcher, teacher and dedicated colleague, Maria’s research focused on how copper and iron function in the body.
Perhaps her greatest impact was mentoring and guiding her students and providing them with a transformative research experience during her more than 45 years of service at Cal State Fullerton.
The College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is earnest in our commitment to build a scholarship endowment in her honor. This will enable Chemistry and Biochemistry students for years to come and to honor her legacy as a champion of scientific research and NSM.
