President Fram Virjee hit the nail on the head when he said that the CSUF library is “special because it’s the intellectual and cultural hub not just of our campus community, but every community throughout Orange County.”
Built in the 1960s, the Paulina June and George Pollak Library serves students, faculty and the larger community in a multitude of ways. As a 21st century institution, Pollak Library both values the past and provides patrons for the future with constantly evolving spaces for learning and creativity.
The University Archives and Special Collections preserves the university’s history and safeguards some of its most treasured resources and looks to the construction of its permanent home on the sixth floor to provide an optimum environment to successfully execute its mission.
The MIX on the second floor north houses opportunities for collaboration and innovation.
The Data Visualization Center providing an immersive space to analyze and display data;
Expanding Makerspaces with both high tech (e.g., 3-D Printers; Microsoft Surface Hub) and low-tech (sewing machines and button makers) equipment for students to put concepts into practice;
Soon to arrive eSports spaces will support emerging curricula and feature sophisticated technology enabling CSUF students to compete among themselves or against other institutions in this growing, inclusive competitive sport and technology.
Student-focused areas that address a range of student needs from cultural resources to a complete suite of academic support to the Meditation Space and the Family Room.
And these are just the resources we have now!
When 10 gifts are made to the Pollak Library, an additional $600 will be unlocked!
