Reading and writing are arguably the most important things that children learn in school. At the Reading Center we have been preparing literacy specialists with hands-on training while providing assistance to children in the community for over 50 years. 

Our mission is to support reading and literacy development through direct instruction, building teacher capacity, and supporting family literacy.  We serve the diverse children of Orange County with our programs including after-school tutoring and intervention, Ready, Set, Read! camps, and workshops for teachers and parents. We serve current and future teachers by providing education and experiences that prepare them to provide literacy education for all our learners.
